"I wanted to personally thank you and CareManagers for providing outstanding support to my family in its hour of emergency need.
My mom has Alzheimer’s disease, middle stages of onset, and my dad is her primary caregiver. They are both elderly, 86 and 89 years old, with a host of medical problems that range from arthritic knees to emphysema and heart disease. They had been living in the same house for 53 years, but with my mom’s dementia life had been become an unbearable struggle.
When my mom started to have delusions that my dad was her father, I finally exercised my corporate eldercare benefit.
An elder care specialist was assigned to our case. She quickly established a rapport with my parents through several face to face meetings and reports she prepared. My dad had staunchly resisted all prior attempts to consider help of any kind. Over a six month period as things deteriorated, this wonderful professional convinced my dad to accept in-home companion care and eventually to move to an independent living community near my home.
We feel truly blessed that she came our way. She is a wonderful woman and fantastic professional resource. No matter the circumstance, she provided sound advice and support as the need arose, many times after hours or on weekends. She had genuine, utmost concern for my wife and me and my parents.
We could not have made it through this crisis without her. We feel eternally indebted to her. She is a gem.
